Ultra-processed food consumption, appetitive traits and BMI in children: a prospective study/British Journal of Nutrition
Investigate the association of ultra-processed food consumption at 4 and 7 years of age with appetitive traits at 7 years and BMI at 10 years of age.
The average UPF consumption was 27.3% and 29.3% for children aged 4 and 7 yrs, respectively. UPF consumption was positively related to "Food Responsiveness" and negatively related to "Food Fussiness" and "Satiety Responsiveness". UPF consumption at 4 years was directly correlated with higher BMI at age 10.
