Inequities in the urban food environment of a Brazilian city
Describes and investigates the community food environment in a large Brazilian city, discussing in particular the distribution of food establishments in districts with different degrees of socioeconomic vulnerability.
A total of 23 districts (19.1%) of districts presented high or very high vulnerability. Establishments only or mainly selling UPF presented higher frequencies 52.7% in comparison to other categories throughout the city. The downtown district had most types of establishments. Districts of greater vunerability had fewer establishments.
