Evaluation of the accurateness of the nutritional labels of processed and ultra-processed products available in supermarkets of Ecuador
Evaluate the consistency of information reported on the nutrition labels of processed and UPPs found in the main supermarkets of Cuenca, a city in southern Ecuador.
24% products had inconsistencies in traffic light label and 10.9% products had inconsistencies in indicator for sugar specifically. Most inconsistencies fell within the medium indicators for sugar and fat - products with a medium indicator for sugar had a 1.98 times higher chance of having inconsistencies in comparison with low indicator.
